We are very excited to announce the offering of this FREE event titled:

"Bee Aware"
An evening with apiarist
Dennis Morihiro of Tropical Apiaries of Wailuku.

This will be a series of four lectures in different districts, which explore the life of the honey bee here on Maui, through the eyes of a beekeeper.
Eyes that have seen the environment which bees need to not only survive, but to thrive, and how that environment is becoming depleted.

What has caused this demise?

Come listen and learn of the life of what makes this most amazing creature so essential to our agricultural security and prosperity along with the importance of having an environment that is bio-diverse relating to a quality experience for resident and visitor alike.

Dennis will lead us on a connect-the-dots journey from his twenty two years of "beeing" around these selfless creatures, sharing his experience and observations of the challenges that have surfaced through the loss of critical habitat and the recent introduction of the varroa mite.

This event is part and parcel to our upcoming Body & Soil conference Oct 11,12. "Body and Soil " speaking to the essential need to invigorate our environment through encouraging plant biodiversity that is supportive of the habitat needed for beneficial insects including the honey bee.

Come "Bee" with us, for this very special event and sample some of his dakine local honey!!!
